#1 Summer Reading Book
Still a firm favourite of mine, and if you can only read one book this Summer, please let it be this. It will not disappoint. The insights are golden and will prompt you to reconsider how you’re spending your time.
‘Stolen focus – Why you can’t pay attention by Johann Hari’.
All over the world, our ability to pay attention is collapsing. In the US, college students now focus on one task for only 65 seconds, and office workers manage only three minutes on average. New York Times best-selling author Johann Hari went on an epic journey across the world to meet the leading scientists and experts investigating why this is happening to us – and discovered that everything we think we know on this subject is wrong.
#2 Summer Reading Book
Another of my all-time favourite books, especially if you’re looking to get some perspective back into your life. This book will seriously make you think about living in the present.
‘Chasing Daylight – Eugene O’Kelly’
The international bestseller ‘Chasing Daylight’ is the honest, touching and inspirational memoir of former KPMG CEO Eugene O’Kelly, completed three and a half months between his brain cancer diagnosis and his death in September 2005. Its haunting yet extraordinarily hopeful voice reminds us to embrace our lives’ fragile, fleeting moments.
#3 Summer Reading Book
This book is excellent as it shares the surprisingly simple truth behind achieving extraordinary results.
‘The One Thing – Gary Keller’
You want fewer distractions and less on your plate. The daily barrage of e-mails, texts, tweets, messages, and meetings distract you and stress you out. The simultaneous demands of work and family are taking a toll. And what’s the cost? Second-rate work, missed deadlines, smaller paychecks, fewer promotions–and lots of stress. You want more productivity from your work—more income for a better lifestyle. You want more satisfaction from life and more time for yourself, your family, and your friends. Now you can have both – less and more.
#4 Summer Reading Book
An international bestseller renowned for its ability to help us remove the blinders that most of us have placed upon our worldview and start searching out the life we truly want to live.
‘The Saint, The Surfer and the CEO – Robin Sharma’
Once in a while, a book comes with the power and the wisdom to speak to the best part of us and awaken our highest selves to the miracle our lives were meant to be. This is that book.
ENJOY!
